Presbyterian Women

Newport’s Presbyterian Women are active, interesting, thoughtful, and eager to serve others.

For fellowship and study, many of us meet monthly in five “circles.” All women are welcome to join a circle. Each spring, we organize an overnight retreat for all women of the church, usually at Rainbow Lodge, with a speaker and activities. We also gather for a Spring Salad Supper in May and a Summer Fellowship in August.

Mission opportunities are an integral part of Presbyterian Woman and a major part of Newport’s total mission emphasis. We participate in national and international women’s missions through our giving. We also support the Deacons’ Prayer Shawl project, support Treehouse for foster children and other causes, and serve meals to homeless women through the Church of Mary Magdalene. We also organize substantial in-kind donations. These include a warm clothing drive for Compass Alliance, with additional gifts of books and personal healthcare items. We also give clothing and supplies for the teenage boys of Treehouse, and meals for Sophia’s Way.

PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN CIRCLES–Five circles meet monthly (usually September to June) for Bible study, fellowship, and service.
