The Architectural Planning Committee began the process of developing plans for Newport's future facilities and use in January 2006. The APC collected and reviewed feedback from each of the Newport committees, Newport staff, Newport members, Fishpond, and community user groups. The feedback was evaluated in subsequent meetings with the architects. A draft of the master plan was presented to the congregation during an evening potluck on Sunday April 2nd, and was well received by the group. The additional feedback received from this presentation was then reviewed and incorporated into the master plan. On Tuesday April 12th, Newport Session voted to approve the architectural master plan presented by Broweleit Peterson Hammer Architects. Click on the links below to view highlights of the plan:
